DH and I dated for 4 years before getting married. We decided to wait 2 years after we got married before trying to get pregnant. Now, two years and seven months later we are still trying.

DH is 33 and I am 35. Last February we got a +++++ result, after doing our 1st Metrodin + IUI cycle. Sadly in March, I had a M/C at 7 weeks (the cause was due to a genetic factor with the egg). Before that we had done 6 cycles of clomid @ 50mg with our Ob/Gyn...and ended up with NOTHING!!!! We did 4 or 6 more IUI's after the m/c. Last November during my lap, our RE found small traces of endometriosis, and suggested that we move onto IVF. My DH is Mr. "Super Spermie Man", but my diagnosis was changed from unexplained prior to the lap to endometriosis thereafter. My RE is hopeful that the endometriosis shouldn't be enough to stop me from getting pregnant.

I respond well to the medications and make lots of 20x20mm and over follicles and my lining is great, etc. I have lots of faith that this 1st IVF will work.

Editor's note: I recently received an update from the author. While waiting to start her first IVF cycle, she unexpectedly became pregnant naturally. She is now 29 weeks pregnant and is expecting her baby just before Christmas 1999.
