We, meaning my husband and myself; are going to attempt a pregnancy again in the spring. Of course, that is solely up to the insurance company. You see, we were covered for three attempts. The first: no fertilization; the 2nd: pregnant with twins- miscarried at 6 weeks; the 3rd: no 'luck'. We later found out that I had a thyroid condition and it was a contributing factor to my IVF failures. I found this out through a visiting doctor from California who suggested I get a blood test to check. He was right. It was a thyroid problem. They killed it off and I am now on medication to replace it. We approached the original IVF doctor with our findings. Of course he said that my thyroid condition had nothing to do with it. Baloney!!!!! My endocrinologist said it controls your hormones, metabolism, and other things. Don't you think the doctor and his staff owe us another attempt? We do. My husband never got over losing our babies and never will. It will haunt him always. Please pray for us. We need all the prayers we can get. I had a tubal pregnancy in 1980 and never got pregnant again. We think insurance should be mandated because infertility is a disease.
