I am 34 and married a second time to a wonderful man 6 years my jr. I had a tubal ligation after my third child at the age of 24 and regret that decision. However, my husband and I are excited that we will be starting the IVF cycle (our first) in September. We have planned this since we have been married (5 1/2 yr), but trying not to set ourselves up for disappointment. I'm SOOOO excited. If anyone has any suggestions or even small words of encouragement, please contact me. THANK YOU!

Alena:
hello everyone, I just wanted to see if anyone could be of some help to us, this is our first IVF, I'm 26, DH 34, I have 3 children from previous, and now my tubes are tied, and DH has low count, and 0 survival after 24hr, so are going to have to do the ivf, which is fine with us. We go on the 24 to have a 3 1/2hr consultation with the dr. office, and we will get all details, and learn how to do the shots, and meds. And since I am a still "young enough" they say that I should produce eggs with no problem, so I have opted to be an egg donor, my dr. was just so flabergasted, that someone of my age would do something like that, and the funny thing is, that we did not know that we would have help with the finance part of this whole thing, that is wonderful too. I am very excited, about this whole thing, I hope that there will be no complications, for us or the recipient. If anyone has any advice, I will take it gladly, any words will help a bunch. Thank you all very much. God bless, and baby dust to all!

I have just started my first IVF cycle last week, I am 28y.o and have only one working ovary which produces cysts on a monthly basis, unfortunately my fallopian tube is nowhere near my ovary. Duh! My husband also has a low sperm count so IVF (or in our case ICSI) is our only hope. We live in New Zealand and it is hard to find people to talk to, I know of noone who has gone/is going through this. Thank you for a wonderful web site, I am doing a lot of self teaching!! ALl the best to everyone out there going through this.

I just found out about this sit, I'm starting a second IVF in sept 01 in Montreal. This is the second treatment. I had a son in Nov 00 after the second try. I'm looking foward, but I'm anxious at the same time since I don't know if its going to be successful on the first try. I'm 31 and no fertility problem, but my husband has a low count with little motility. By reading in this site I hope to find someone for positive support.

Michelle Clarke:
Thank you for putting together such a terrific site. Although I have not personally gone through infertility, my best friend has and now a close colleague of mine is too. My friend is now pregnant with twins after her third round of IVF and my colleague is about to go through her first, and hopefully, only cycle. Having a website like yours is invaluable. It has helped me better understand what my friends are going through. I highly recommend that anyone with a friend or family member struggling with infertility educate themselves about the problem. The best thing you can do for a friend in this position, aside from educating yourself, is to be extremely sensitive and, empathetic. . .try as hard as you can to put yourself in their shoes. For couples longing for children of their own, there are countless painful triggers they must deal with everyday, whether it's hearing another friend is pregnant, having to attend a family gathering full of children; the reminders are everywhere. So be sensitive to this. Don't offer well-intended but useless and ultimately hurtful bits of advice, like: "Oh, you just need to relax; you're not getting pregnant because you're trying too hard." Don't try to offer solutions. . .you can't fix the problem. . .just LISTEN. Sincerely, Michelle Clarke

Michelle Robinson:

Haylee:
Hi. I'm 25 and i'm 15 weeks pregnant with our first IVF baby. I have a 5 year old who I fell naturally with. Since her birth I had three eptopics resulting in having to have my tubes removed. We had a few hiccups with IVF but after our first FET we fell which we feel so blessed about. I wish I had known about this site when I was going through treatment. Feel free to email me and good luck to all of you trying to conceive.

Michelle Robinson:

I am 25 years old and my DH and I have gone through IVF 2 times with no success. He has low sperm count with low mobility, I have endometriosis, and they can't get me to stimulate. It is helpful to see that so many others have run into obstacles, but didn't let that stop them. Thanks for the web page.

Hello. My dh and I have been ttc for 3 yrs. Found out about 1.5 years ago, that he has low count, and low mobility. We tried 6 IUI's with chlomid, no success. We have come to conclusion of having to do IVF, but we are limited to resources, as we live in Alaska. Any suggestions would help for clinics. Thanks for reading... Good luck to you all and God Bless!

weve been trying 3years and about to start 2nd ivf, im 40 yrs old and fulltime career woman, i kept on working while i was going thru last ivf. is it common to have pain(period pain like)or was i supposed to relax at home, im also blaming myself for the failure. i only found out the failed result of 1st ivf today and even if expected, it was very disappointing. better luck next time, good luck to you all! i would love to hear your symptoms and signs of that 2week waiting period.

Julie:
I am 27 years old and my first appointment to see the IVF specialist is less than 1 month away. I'm getting to the point that I'm very nervious about what comes next. My aunt refered me to this web site so I could get familiar with the whole process. Glad I finally took a look at the web site. Best wishes to everyone!!

Bimga:
I am 32 years and I have just started IVF treatment in Nigeria where you have little option but to go to the one clinic that is known to be offering the treatment. There is also very little information given and no support group. This site is a real blessing.

sheree:
I'm nearly 25 and been on ivf for nearly 6 years with no luck. I accidentally came across this site for the first time 2 days ago and found myself overwhelmed reading people comments in the guestbook. It's nice to know your not alone when this process can leave you feeling very isolated at times. I now know where to come when in need of a chat. Keep up the good work.

I have 2 children from a previous marriage but cant get pregnant know so we are going to do this. My husband is in the military so this is going to cost us half of what it would in the civilian world. I am glad the site is here and the stories it has helped me alot.

Sukey T:
Greetings to all! Your stories warm my heart as my husband and I venture into the cold and clinical world of IVF after 3 unsuccessful IUI attempts. I will continue to visit this site to connect with this site for advice. Good luck to everyone.

Andrea:
Hi, I am new to this. My DH and I have been ttc for 5 years. i had one ectopic pregnancy in April 1998 and a tube removed, the other tube is also blocked. We have been on the waiting list for IVF for two years and are finally at the top. I have recently had my FSH blood test and DH had his Sperm migration test. We are now waiting to see the consultant in June/July to get the ball rolling. I am obviously very nervous and trying not to build my hopes up, but we both want a child so much. I have found all the emails I have been reading extremely useful and some confusing but im sure wants we start it will all come clear. Wishing you all the best of luck

Anne, Northern VA, USA:
Hi Brenda & All...I am from the suburbs of Washington, DC. I am going to Shady Grove Fertility. This is our 1st IVF. This website has been so much help to me. It's comforting to know that I am not alone - that others are going through the same emotional and physical struggle. Thank you for your hard work, it is appreciated.

Hello, i am an ovum donor for the Reproductive Science Center, in San Ramon, CA. I am just now in the final steps of my 1st cycle, and am carrying 40 follicles! I go in for retrieval tomorrow, and am so happy to be able to help another couple achieve thier dream of having a baby. I do not know the reciepients, but I believe they will make great parents, as I have no doubt that this is going to work!

Ana Marie:
Hello! I am 28 my dh is 31. We've been married for 8 yrs and ttc for 5. I had both tubes removed due to endo. This was my 3rd IVF and I still can't believe it worked! I turn to this site for reassurance and hope to give back the same to these women who understand how much I have been through. It's definitely been a long journey! For those going thru IVF, never lose hope! Put your trust in God because He is in control and only He knows the pain that you carry from not being able to conceive. He does have a special plan for you, as He did with me.

TJ:
We are shortly to go for our first ivf/icsi cycle having decided against also having tese. This site has been extremely helpful and I'm sure will continue to be so. Thank you

This site was very helpful!! My DH and I just found out (much to our chagrin) after a second opinion with a RE that our next step is pretty much IVF. We were very surprised. We now feel like our current doc has been keeping us in the dark about our treatments and what was next!! We were not prepared emotionally to deal with IVF this soon. I have alot of anxiety about the whole procedure and whether or not we should try it. We'll see. Reading this site sure has helped inform me more. Thank you!

gana:
Hi, I am 7dp4pt. I am going through IVF cycle. I have feeling cramps and as if I am going to get my AF 2 days after my transfer. I slept the whole day yesterday as I was feeling very weak. Is this common. Is anyone feeling the same Thanks Gana

Jami:
Thank goodness I found this site! I'm undergoing my first (and hopefully my only) IVF cycle. I'm 7dpt--my beta test is 5/21. I have both endometriosis and PCOS. Additionally, my husband has a poor morphology rate. I shudder to think of all the money we've wasted over the past 10 years on birth control! I've never felt more tested emotionally, physically, and spiritually in my life. It's so nice to hear I'm not alone in all of this. I'd love to hear from anyone who is experiencing the same.

Mary :
Hello everyone. I'm 31 and dh is 33. We've been ttc for almost 4 years. Our only diagnosis is anovulation. We've done 4 IUI cycles with meds and have had 2 m/c's with those. Then we were on our way to IVF last June and I had to do the clomid challenge test, well I ended up pg. Unfortunately, we lost our little girl at 8 weeks. The RE did genetic testing on both of us,immune testing on me and everything is normal. We sat on the IVF idea for about 6 months then decided to go for it. Currently I am 7dp3dt and anxiously awaiting beta day (may 21) .

Ineavelle:
Thank God for this site!! I am 30 yrs. old. Have been trying for 3 years, no success. Did clomid and am now trying to have IVF. Have PCOS and am having difficulty getting the stim drugs to work, but keeping the faith! I welcome any comments or sentiments from anyone, especially those dealing with the problems derived from PCOS.

Barbie:
I've had a miscarrage, three tuble pregnacy's, both tubs removed, two uncuccessful IVF's and here I am, still hopeful.I'm going to keep the good fight of faith, and the same to all of you ladies out there. The good things are always worth fighting for. So Girls lets keep on keeping on!

Santina Roth:
I am 27 years old (birthday 7/17) and in the last 2 years I have had 3 ectopic pregnancies. The last just 4 weeks ago. My right tube has been removed after the second. They finally have said that this was do to ENDO. My DH, Dr & I have decided to do IVF ASAP. I guess we are shooting for Aug or Sept. In the meantime I am trying to do as much research as possible. I am so happy to have found this website. It already has helped me a lot and I hope to be welcomed by all of the women actively involved.

kendra:
Hi My Dh and I have been trying to conceive for 2 years. I have done many chlomid and gonal -f cycles with and without iui. This is my first IVF cycle. I have PCOS and would love to hear from anyone with this same syndrome. Retrieval will be around 5/15. I am very excited to have found this site with so many others going through the same physical and emotional feelings.

Cherie Harrop:

I am 35 and I am at last really starting to believe I am having our own bundles of joy!! this site has been a godsend!! elizabeth

Teresa Butler:
It was very nice to find a place to read about other women going through infertility and hearing that there's hope with IVF in getting pregnant.

Anita:
Hi, one month ago I lost my second tube to yet another ectopic pregnancy. My doc told us that IVF will be our only chance at ever conceiving a child again. I have a 6 year old daughter from a previous marriage, and my husband and I have a 3 year old son together. My dream is to have 3 children. So here I am wondering about IVF. The only thing that we have been told is that it is VERY expensive. We definetly do not have much money, but are looking into our options. I don't even know what kind of a cost we are looking at. Can anyone give me an idea? We live in British Columbia. Thank you.

Candy:
I am have just gone through my first IVF cycle and and now waiting for the day we find out if it worked (may11) This weblink has helped me to not feel so alone during this stressful time. Thanks

Christine:
DH and I have been trying for 10 years - had 3 miscarriages (1 ectopic) and one premature birth (DD is 2-1/2). After surgeries, procedures, fertility pills and insemination unsuccessful, IVF seems to be my next option. Could someone explain to me how the process works? Thanks and ++++++++ thoughts to all !!

I would like to say that this site was very informational. I am cycle day 8 ivf and my estradiol level on cycle day 7 was 1300. I am only 23yrs old and DH is 28. It is very expensive and stressful, but in the end it will be all worth. My treatment only costed $5264(not included meds). I will be going into retreival within the next 3 days. I want to wish evertone luck and sprinkle some baby dust. :)

Hi! I am going through my third medicated IVF cycle in Ontario. I am 26 and my husband is 37. We have been trying for 4 years. I pray that this will be our time to be blessed. Retreival will be on May 7. I am very happy to have found this site. I wish "small blessings" to all in IVF!!

Hello to Everyone. I'm so thankful that I came upon this website. I have one son (3yrs.) through IVF in Calgary and we are thinking about trying for another. Best of luck to all that are going through this process. My thoughts and prays are with you all. If anyone has any information on the clinic in Saskatoon, I would appreciate it. Saskatoon is so much closer for us and I have family there that would be easier.

Shelia:
Hello I would love to do IVF, and I hope everyone is successful. I haven't tried it to expensive.

anet:
Just had surgery! Doctors are saying slim to none chance of ever getting pregnant on my own. Possible IVF in the next 2-6 months. I know NOTHING about IVF. Any comments greatly appreciated.

Amelia:
You have no idea what I would have done if I didn't come across everyone here and all your stories when I started my IVF. I feel safe when I come on board. I'm addicted to it. I have my beta on 24th, but I must say, I'm taking each day as it comes and not reading anything in to it too much now. I'm done with the hpt addiction, it's time for me to sit back and relax and wait!

Linda:

It has been soooo encouraging to read the stories of people who understand! Often this journey feels very lonely, so thank you to you all for sharing your stories. I am 33 and my DH is 40. I have had 7 PG; 3 TB pg, 2 miscarriages and two miracle children. We would LOVE to have another miracle baby. For three years now we have been trying for #3, and I am now on IVF #3. My transfer is tomorrow and I am very nervous! Blessings on you ALL. Thank you for this encouraging site.

hello, What a wonderful website i wish i found it whilst i was undergoing IF treatment! We have recently stopped and are living our lives Childfree.....The only suggestion i have to make is that couples who have been unsuccessful at their attempts like us and who dont pursue adoption there is not much support out there on the web......Maybe your site could list some C.F sites for couples..... for this reason i have set up my own club if you would like to be a member it is free please email me at: Childfree4Us-subscribe@yahoogroups.com **Please be aware there is a form to fill out and we do require you to send an introduction prior to your membership being accepted..... It is nice to be able to talk to others who have also finished IF tx and we all certainly do have something in common.....

I love your website and enjoyed reading the stories. Like everyone else, we are hoping for our miracle baby to come. I'm on my second stimulated IVF cycle and waiting for my BETA to be done next week. Pray for me and I wish everyone all the luck in this world. Marilyn

Michelle:
Hi- I just found this wonderful website on the recommendation of a woman I talked to waiting to do b/w. I have done 4 clomid w/iui and did not work. I am doing ivf w/ lupron, repronex, gonal-f, & baby aspirin. Currently I have 16 follies and I am just waiting for them to grow!:) I have acupuncture done (I'm also an acupuncturist) and have changed my diet somewhat. I still love coffee-although now it's decaf- but I take lots of vitamins, drink plenty of water and have read that drinking green tea and dark tea helps with the uterine lining. I just keep meditating and praying for our baby to come and join our family. I'd love to chat and could use any advise anyone has for the 2ww period. Thanks! :) Michelle
