My husband and I have been ttc for 7 years. This is my first visit to this site and i love it . I think it's a great outlet for couples who are dealing with infertility.
Heather:
I've just had my first IVF cycle. Now, I'm waiting. It's very difficult.
Mary and Rob:
I am waiting for my pregnancy test for the results of our first IVF try. Seven more days and we will know if it was successful! This has been quite an experience. I don't regret it, although it might just be the hardest thing I've ever done! If the test is negative, we will most likely try again in October!
karin:
Hello-My husband Tim and I have been ttc for 3yrs. I am 38. I did clomide and IUI in March and May with no success. We will try IVF in the fall. I know we haven't been on this rollercoaster as long as many people I have read about in the Bulletin Boards but I am finding it very draining. I am happy to have found this site and feel I will be checking in regularly for support and information. Thank you for the opportunity to write down my thoughts.

kev & Di (New Zealand):
After being on the IVF waiting list for two and a half years our number has finally come up and we are now hoping to get one of the two available slots per week. Missed a placing this month so hopefully next month we will get a start. This site is really helpfull, just being amongst others going through the same experiences. Good luck to all.
Amy & Bryan:
My dh and I have been through two IUI with no luck. I have started Lupron 1 1/2 wks ago, will add Repronex on Monday, then hopefully will do the retrievel the first week of Aug. This is our first try with IVF. Wish us luck. We are very nervous & excited. It is nice to find a place to go and be with other women and couples who are on the same emotional roller coaster my dh & I are on. Saying prayers for all!!!! Any advice anyone can give me would be greatly appreciated.
DRIZZI:
questo sito è veramente confortante. sono al 5° tentativo, speriamo sia l'ultimo
Janet:
I love this website! Especially all of you. I never knew until I started IVF just how many people have infertility problems. My husband and I just completed our IVF cycle and I'm 7dp3dt (is that right?) and our BETA test is on the 27th. We are so excited and I just know that this will work. I feel it in my heart. I just wanted you all to know that I did feel alone, but now that I found all of you, I feel better. Thanks!
tina alderman :
i am looking to ivf after several failed iui attempts.
Amanda:
I am English and have just discovered this website. I have only recently had access to the Internet and this is such a revelation! I am surrounded by women who have conceived naturally very very quickly and have recently started to feel very isolated - but reading all these messages was so reassuring. I had my last attempt via insemination today and if we're unsuccessful, we'll be starting IVF very soon. I don't know what to expect, but it all sounds very complicated and time-consuming. Anyway, thanks everyone for your messages of support. I'm very grateful.
Lisa:
hi everyone, just found out about this site, and i am going through IVF right now. Looking forward to my egg retrival sometime this weekend, hopefully. If anyone would like to chat, please E-Mail me. Good Luck to all.
diana:
We are just starting IVF. It's good to know we are not alone !!! I'm a little afraid but its nice to talk to other people who are going through the same thing and who will understand how it feels!!!! thanks
Lucy:
i have been looking on this site for ivf treatment as i am studing this subject in r.e and i am very interested in this subject!
DeAnne:
Hi All It is so great to have a place where you can go and hear real life stories, rather than the clincal approach that you get in books. I needed to see the stories of how other people felt, just so that I know it's NORMAL (whatever normal is)> DH and I are about to embark on our IVF/ICSI journey, well at least after I loose weight! Keep up the good work, and I love the e-mail ring!
Nathalie:
Your site is EXCELLENT! It has been very helpful to me, and I will keep it in my bookmarks. DH and I will do IVF/ICSI soon (at least I hope). Don't know the dates yet. Encore bravo! :-)
Angela:
unlike everyone elses stories I am a single woman that has always had the desire to have a child. It really hurts me to think that this may not come true. I wanted to look around the internet just to explore my options and to find out how much IVf would actually cost(in Canada) is this unrealistic of me to do to have a child? Thanks for all the great stories and for listening to me!!!!!+++++++++++++"s to all!!
beth:
I have just had an Ivf failure and to keep my mind busy I was looking around the internet... and I found this website. I cried with all the stories I have read. I am deciding whether to try again. I am 42. I do hear success stories of woman my age and older. I thought I would give it one try and go on, but here I am thinking about trying again. I have called for the ARC financing packet. I guess I do want to try again. Well, thanks for the website it gives me a little more hope.
Michelle:
Wow! what a great site! I'm so glad I lucked onto it. So many stories, many similair to my own. It gives me strength to know I'm not alone. This is my 2nd ivf, (my 1st was successful we have beautiful 15 month old boy.) I am on day 12 of suppression and puregon, it's not looking great but will see the cycle out. Heartfelt wishes ++++++++ to all
Michelle:
Hi just found this sight. Just went through first IVF. Retrived 43 eggs. Yes 43, got pregnant with twins lost them at six weeks. Sad, mad, depressed and hurt. I have 10 frozen Blastocyst will start FET. My dh and I have been married for 7 years been trying for 6 and a half. During those 6 years did numerous IUI's. Went to IVF and they informed me I had PCO. Which my other doctor did not inform me and was not treating me for it. Basically 6 years wasted. Good luck to everyone.
Sandy:
I'm so happy to have found this wonderful sight. For the longest time I thought that I was the only one having such a hard time getting pregnant. It good to know that I'm not the only one. I will be starting IVF in August and ma a bit scared but at the same time very hopeful that I will hopefully very soon have that little bundle of joy that I've wanted for so long. Good luck to every one and lots of positive thoughts. If any one would like to chat please feel free to email me.
Ann:
July 9, 2000 Hi everyone. I am 28 years old and my dh is 35. We had a successful IVF cycle last March and our daughter is almost 8 months old. It was our first try and we feel so blessed. My thoughts and prayers go out to all of you. Please email me if you have any questions. I had several verses from the Bible that I read every day. These verses show God's promise of children to His children. I really want to do IVF again, but it seems so selfish after all the people who are unsuccessful. Don't ever give up or lose faith, miracles do happen.
Lori Gordon:
My dh and I have been ttc for approx. 2 years now. When we saw RE in may, I decided to do some research on IVF online. I accidently came across this website. I think it is great. The women I chat with and read about all give me hope and encouragement. I feel better knowing that I always have someone to share my fears or concerns with and I know these women can truly understand everything I am going through. Thank you for everyone!!!
Jennifer&Jimmy:
I am so glad I found this site! After 4 yrs of infertility,it is so good to go to a site that is for people achieving pregnancy. My dx is blocked tubes and endo.I have 2 children from a previous marriage who have been adopted by my DH!Alot of the reasons for my infertility is letting the wrong military doctor get a hold of me during an ectopic removal.Since Dh has left the military, we live in Ky where I have found a very good Re who has has told me I have endometriosis and cervical cancer Which the cervical cancer was removed and was in the beginning stages. We will start ivf in 6-9 months after 2-3 good paps.I think Dh made a good decision to get out of the military because it may have cost me my life.I hope that we all go on to acheive pregnancies and I wish everyone lots of +++++++++++++'s!
Donna:
I am so glad that I have found this web site. I have not been able to fine any support around anywhere I know it must be out there but maybe I am not looking in the right place. My DH and I have been married for 12 years and over the last two years we have been on GIFT twice & FET and all unsuccessful. I am in the middle of my second FET at present and I am just glad that there are people out there that I can talk to. Thanks
katrina:
hi everybody. i just wanted to share my story. after years of battling infertility due to blocked tubes, my dh and i have finally achieved pregnancy due to ivf fet. it was our second try and i still can't believe the results. if this can come true for me, it can happen to you. i'll keep you all in my prayers, and please continue to pray for me.
Robin &Ryan:
Hi Everyone, I am sooo glad to find this web-site! My husband & I have been trying for a little one for about 5 years now. We have now decided to do IVF and are very excited. We were supposed to do our procedure in May but they found a cyst in my right ovary and said we had to wait for it to go away. After 2 months of waiting it was still there. I had surgery to remove the cyst on June 21st and are now hopefully on our way to doing the procedure. According to our new schedule we should be doing the procedure in September. My prayers go out to all of you. God Bless.
Jene' & Dennis:
We are a brand new couple, we've only been together for seven months. I went through Infertility with my ex-husband for three years and it ultimately ruined our marriage. That was two years ago. Now I have the man of my dreams in my life and I could not be happier, accept if we had a child together. It is something we both want very much. We found this site by accident, but we are very glad we did!
Mia:
Hello. I am so glad I found this site. Someone who recently went through IVF told me to check it out. I'm glad that I did. I will be going for my first IVF in mid-August. Lupon starting next week or so. Wish me luck.++++++thoughts to all of you. Mia

Tricia Macgillivray:
Found this site whilst i was feeling depressed and just mucking about with the computer. It has really helped me,knowing that there are so many others going through the same sort of things as myself. Iam 38,never been pregnant and have been with my partner for 15 years. Iam on day14 post transferand have got fingers crossed.
Melissa:
Thanks for your site! It means alot that we can come together for support in a time that is unlike any other in life.
Penny:
I have lots of ideas and success with getting insurance companies to pay for Infertility treatment. Would be happy to share with you! One hint: If you insurance contract does not cover infertility drugs but you have a Rx mail order benefit. You can submit a perscription to the mail order and most likely get it filled for just your co-pay.
Anonymous:
Hope prevailed! I never gave up hope of a baby...after 11 years of trying EVERYTHING including 3 unsuccessful IVF/ICSI and a high FSH - I conceived 5 times ... but no baby. I tried a few low tech things while using fertinex and now I am holding my wonderful baby daughter! Oh, I am 43 years old and so happy to finally be a mom. Would love to offer hope and ideas to others. Also, I have gonal-f and fertinex left over if anyone out there is looking.
Leslie:
I'm on day 11 of my first ivf cycle. I had my blood drawn today and my E2 level was high, 116 and should be 60. will remain on Lupron for another four days. Blood test following. Hope all levels will be okay. I'm worried, I'm 39.
Christina:
I just discovered this website a few nights ago and have been on it nonstop! I will be starting my 1st ivf cycle tomorrow June 30th and I am very excited. I can empathize with you all and will keep you in my prayers.
Kristie Kearns:
This site is wonderful!! I am on my 3rd day of stimulation drugs for IVF. The success stories really help!!
Sally:
I am 22 and my husband is 26. We have a 17 month old son named Tristan and live in Ontario. I am a pregnant gestational surrogate three months with twins for a US couple. I love being able to help them with their family. This site is a great place to meet people who are experiencing the same things. Our homepage is...http://therhoadsfamily.homestead.com/Home.html
Debbie:
Finding this site has really lifted my spirits. I am 41 and have been going through various infertility treatments for almost 10 years. We are getting ready to start our first attempt at IVF. I just had my day 10 FSH yesterday. If the numbers are ok, then we will start the suppression next month with IVF in August. It's been a long ride to this point. It helps to know we're not alone.
Oona Northampton :
Hi fellow IVFers! Im just beginning my second attempt! Wish me luck!!!!!!!!!!!!
Dani & Mark:
Wow, what an amazing site! I've been to a lot a sites recently, none as thorough or pertinent to me as this one (and what a bonus the Cnd slant is!) DH and I will be starting our first cycle later this year, and you can be sure we'll be doing a lot of surfing here. Thanks!
Ali:
Hi. I'm 29, my husband is 31 and we've just started our first IVF cycle ~ retreival due to take place around 17th July. This website is really informative ~ will definitely be visiting again.
Lis:
This is a wonderful site! I am 38 and my new husband is 33. We have decided that we would like a child. I have had 3 children. 22, 16, 15 years. Unfortunately I had my tubes tied when I was 23. My husband also has 2 children from a previous marriage. Would artificial insemination ,or tubil reversal be more successful, and what seems to be cheaper. We live in Toronto. Any help would be most appreciated
stephanie:
Hi infertility buddies I am 27 and my hubby is 28 and we have been trying for 11 months. Nothing is wrong with either of us we have unexplained infertility. we did two unsuccessful iui's with clomid and my ever so aggressive re moved us to ivf this month. We are lucky that our insurance covers us 100% so we are thrilled. Cant imagine if we had to pay for it ourselves. We have everything in life we could want at the age of 27 except for a beautiful little baby. We are so anxious to be a mommy and daddy and will continue to pray that this first ivf works given our age and our health. I started lupron today and will continue with hopefully good news to report to everyone. I am confident that this will work. I feel everyones pain and suffering and believe me i will keep everyone in my prayers. One last thought: ISN'T IT AMAZING HOW MANY PEOPLE ARE IN THE SAME BOAT. KINDA DOESN'T SEEM FAIR DOES IT? Anyone feel free to e-mail me i am a great friend and i am also a walking infertility bible, i swear i know all the answers. My doctors calls me an extremely anal patient. Love and hugs to all. Think ++++ and it will happen
Cheryl:
I want to say to anybody out there trying IVF treatment Please don't give up. I had twins after 7 attempts and still can't believe that it finally worked. I am at the moment writing the whole story for my children to read and realise how very much they were wanted.I know how painful it is but please don't give up, it will happen.
Dianna:
Hi, I'm 38 yrs. old and have had my tubes tied. However, now I've met a wonderful man who doesn't have any children. So we will be trying to conceive through IVF. My first cycle will being in July. Would like to get fed back form others my same age and cicumstances. Hope to hear from someone soon.
Jenni:
Thank-you for this great web page. I am only a 17 year old female, who has chosen to do her Biology assignment on IVF, and I am deeply touched by it all. I just hope that I will not be as unfortunate as many people in the future.
Jane & Ashby:
Hello, and thank you to IVF Connections for providing a wonderful outlet and inlet for all questions, answers, support and comfort. I have been with IVF Connections buddy lists for two months now. Although my first IVF was cancelled, I continue to be involved and active to provide support to my fellow IF friends. This is a wonderful opportunity and a terrific means of private conversation and friend making! Thanks to IVF Connections for their help and support to all of us!! Jane and Ashby
Ruth Ann & Greg:
I am 34 and have two children from a previous marriage. I had my tubes tied at that time. It is now 7 1/2 years later and I am married to the most wonderful man. He is 38 and does not have any children. He has always wanted children all his life, but his previous wife would not allow him to have any because it would cramp her lifestyle. I love him so much and I want to do this for him so he can feel the joy and happiness having a child can bring. We started the preliminary work for IVF two months ago. We went through alot of tests. After two sonograms and an HSG we found out that I have fibroid cysts in my uterus. I am due to have those removed next week. After my next period, we are to begin the injections and will have retrieval done in August. I am really worried about it. Where we live it costs about $8,000.00 for the first try. That is all that we can afford. Insurance will not cover it. I have been off work for the last few months because of all the appointments that have been and will be necessary. If this doesn't work, we cannot afford to try again. I am hearing from most of the responses on this site that this success has occurred on the second, third and fourth attempts. I am hoping but am full of alot of doubt. Wish me luck!
christa:

Great site. I am grateful that I can have hope while going through my first try with IVF. I have endometriosis and had one tube removed in March, the other is blocked. My Husband and I have everything we could ever want except a baby. The last two years of trying has brought us much closer together. I am scared however about dealing with failure should we not conceive. I am on day 13 of injections and am starting to really feel large in the middle. I pray for us all, each and every day!!! I will share my outcome good or bad with you. I am hopeful it will be good!!!! God bless you and keep smiling : ), Please write to me if you wish to share you experince, happiness or pain. 6/6/00
ADRIAN:
What is the late's drug's for IVF. We will be going for our 4 attemped.
Michelle:
I'm not interested in IVF I'm interest in a tubal reversal. My heart goes out to all of you who cant conceive. I have 4 Beautiful Daughters. and I just made a big mistake 10 yrs ago when I had my tubes tied. I'm thinking about going to Ottawa and Having this done, I Live in the U. S and the coat is so high. I want so bad to give the man I love a child. He doesn't have any children and it tears me up not being able to give him one. DONNA:
i A SHOCKED TO FIND A WEB SITE FOR THIS OUT THERE ON THE NET. tHREE YEARS AGO I WENT THROUGH MY FIRST IVF ( ACTUALLY G.I.F.T) PROCEDURE & I GOT PREGNANT. BUT, UNFORTUNATELY I LOST THE PREGNANCY. I HAD THEN NO ONE TO TURN TO FOR HELP. I AM SO HAPPY TO FIND THIS SITE. I NOW FEEL LIKE THERE ARE SO MANY OF US OUT THERE TO HELP SUPPORT EACH OTHER. THANK GOD FOR THIS SITE. I AM NOW GOING THROUGH AN IUI STARTED MEDS YESTERDAY. SO I AM PRAYING THIS WORKS. AFTER MY LOSS I TRIED 2 IUI'S THEN BUT, NOTHING WORKED. I GUESS I WASN'T REALLY READY FOR THAT SO SOON AFTER THE MISCARRIAGE. I HAD WAITED MAYBE 4 MONTHS. YOU KNOW HOW DOCTORS ARE. THEY TELL YOU TO GET PICK YOURSELF BACK UP OFF THE FLOOR & TRY AGAIN. I DO NEED INFO ON ANY INSURANCE THAT COVERS IVF. DOES ANYONE KNOW OF SUCH AN INSURANCE COMPANY??? THANK YOU ALL FOR YOUR HELP.
Michelle:
I have 1 daughter who was conceived naturally but shortly after she was born I was re-diagnosed with leukemia and had to have a bone marrow transplant, the chemo left me infertile and my husband and I are planning on trying IVF using a donor egg within the year. We are excited but nervous to get our hopes up, this site has been very helpful and I realise I'm not the only one, I'm 21 years old and I would appreciate anymore information anyone might have. Good luck to everyone out there ;o)
Jenna:
Hi. I am doing a project for school and I remembered that an ex and I talked about IVF and I thought that it would be a great research paper topic this year. I am basically just trying to get the facts and hopefully some pictures and other things that you would find in a research paper. So, if any of you know a great place to find the above meantioned...please email me and tell me where. Good luck to you all! I hope everything works out the way you want it to! :0)
Candace:
I have just found this site and am so glad I did. I will be starting my first IVF (and hopefully the only one!) this summer. It has been 3 years since we started trying and no luck so far. Nothing in particular wrong with either of us, just 'unexplained infertility'. I am 32 and my DH is 29. He wants children more than anything in the world, and I pray we can make our wishes come true the high tech way. I am looking forward to sharing stories with others in the same spot. Sometimes it seems like we are the only ones!
Lisa:
I just wanted to say that your stories are so inspirational! I'm in the middle of my first (and hopefully only) IVF cycle....retrieval will be early next week. Best of luck to all of you.
Cheryl:
Hi, I just found this place and have realy enjoyed it. I have not started IVF yet but after finding out that one of my tubes is totaly collapsed and the other one is mostly blocked, my husband and I have decided to try it. I have been searching for any information about IVF and what I'm looking forward to and I have found alot more information here than anywhere. Any hints about what I will be facing would be great. Kati:
What a wonderful site!! I have a number of friends and colleagues who have gone through the IVF experience, and know the value of being able to share and learn from each other. I am 35 and my dh has two kids from a previous marriage. After a reversal, and trying for 6mos, we did an IUI, but male factor is pretty severe. We failed our first cycle and will find out on 5/23/00 about our second (our anniversary is 5/22). Found out we have egg factor as well. Keep your fingers crossed for us!
emma:

Melissa:
Hi! I must say this is a wonderful site. This is my first time visiting and I plan to come back often. This monday (5/15/00)I'm having my eggs out and I'm so scared. This is our first attempt at IVF and we are so excited but also terrified. Good luck to everyone and God bless!
shari:
Hi everyone. I was told three years ago that I had POF. Well this June I am going in for my first IVF attempt. I have to say what a wonderful site this is, it is nice to know that you can talk to people that understand exactly what you are going through. Best of Luck to everyone.
Janice:
Happened onto this site and it is great. I live in Alberta Canada. After 4 years of trying to concieve and finding out that my tubes were "wrapped around my ovaries" (attempt was made to straighten out, but HSG revealed little take up with the dye, we were finally sent to the RFP in Calgary. With their help, they harvested 21 eggs (obviously ovulation wasn't a problem!) and we concieved our miracle boy 2 years ago. Now after 4 more tries with cryopreserved embryos, haven't had another success. Down to my last 4 and it is disheartening. Wonderful to have a site where I can relate to all of the members.
Carmen:
My husband and I having been trying to have a child for almost 2 years now. We have done all the testing and found I have cysts in my right ovaries, which have now gone away with the pill. My husbands initial semen analysis from our GP was normal but his latest from our fertility specialist was not he has poor morphology and low HOS-Reactive. Iam told we are candidates for IVF due to male factor infertility, my concern is this, how does IVF conflict or support my strong Catholic beliefs? This is what I am pondering right now. I look forward to sharing information here to make an informed choice for me and my husband.
Cheryl:
I just found this site today (5/8/00). My husband and I are in a waiting period. After 10 years of marriage, and putting our careers first, we finally decided to start a family. After 3 attempt of AI, we were referred to an IVF specialist here in Colorado. During our first visit, I have a vaginal ultrasound done and found out I have fibroids. The doctor recommended that I have them removed. Due to the size of my fibroids, I had a Lapratomy myomectomy (abnominal incision), in which there was a 4-6 weeks recovery period. During the last work up test (baseline ultasound/doppler), the IVF nurse informed me that I had an abnormal blood flow to my uterus. Now I need to have 8 treatments of acupuncture. The doctor informed me and my husband that this treatment helps in flow of blood to the uterus. Now we need to wait another month. The unfortunate thing is that I have no family member/friends here as we just moved to the area. I joined the RESOLVE chapter here in Colorado and meet monthly for support and here from other females who are in the boat as me and my husband. I look forward to reading all information that is required to have a successful IVF.
Julia Murphy:
What a wonderful site - My DH and I have gone through 2 IVF cycles so far. Both give us positive PT but neither of them carrying on to any more than 2 weeks. We will be going for our third in July and would like to thank you for this wonderful site and the support it gives. The emotional side and the waiting is the hardest thing of all in respects to IVF - and I believe anyone can overcome the sometimes painful procedures that we have to endure. We have to pay for all of our treatment ourselves and am lucky enough to say that if it wasnt for my parents then we wouldnt be having this last attempt. Our first attempt gave us 7 embryos and we had 2 grade 'A's put back - the second attempt again was 7 embryos and 2 grade 'A's put back - We are just unlucky that they decided not to grow. The next attempt is our last for mainly financial reasons - keep your fingers crossed for us and my love and best wishes go out to everyone else going through either the same or similar experiences.
Tammy H:
Tammy H. My wonderful dh and I just found out that the only way we can have a baby is IVF. This is a very hard thing to process. We are doing everything we possibly can to get info. to make this easier, this web sight has helped oh so much!We now know the names of the meds we will have to endure,we also know we are not alone, THANK YOU!!! We have harrassed our insurance co.to death but we got what we wanted all the IVF we can handle for only 20% of the cost! yeah for us we really hope all of you can get great insurance coverage. We are getting ready for all of our test and surgery's now --YUCK!! But in the end to look at that beautiful smiling, crying, happy, sick little face and know that it is a part of my dh and myself and to hear those wonderful words MOMA & DADDY , want it be great!!!! The way we have to look at it is one day we will have our baby, and boy will it be SPOILED ROTTEN!! sending all of you lots of prayers and hoping they are returned.
Vivian:
I started looking for info last week on IVF because my DH & I just found out our insurance will cover three cycles. We have a daughter who is 10 but can no longer have any more because of endometriosis (which caused 4 ecoptic PG's & I had to have both tubes removed). I look forward to talking with you all. Any support or help is greatly appreciated as I will be going through my 1st try.
DE:
I'm just trying to help my wife go through all she is going through and be the pilar of strength for her. Please help
Kim Higgins:
I just want to say thanks, I have been searching for other people going threw what I am and had so many concerns and just reading the bulletin board as set my mind at ease. Thanks again and I glad I have you all going on the upcoming months. Kim
Angie:
Hi everyone. A friend told me about this site, and this is my first visit. I am in the May/June group, this is my first time. I got my tubes tied 12 years ago, after 2 children, and never regretted it until I married my husband, John in September. John is everyone's dream father, and I think it would be a shame for a child of his own not to experience the love, understanding, patience, and GOODNESS that John has to offer. I wish everyone luck!
Shelly :
Hi everyone. I'm so excited I found this sight. I have tried the IVF only once in 97 and was not successful. I'm planning another try in 2002. I really enjoy reading about everyones stories. It's great to be able to talk to others who have similar problems ttc. Thank you and good luck to all.
Daneen Radford:
This is a truly wonderful site. I never knew that so many other woman are going through the same emotional roller coaster I am. I reside in the Vero Beach area of Florida and would like to talk with some one else going though this. Good luck and best wishes to all of you. I hope I can over come my financial hurdles towards IVF and I hope you all have success. Daneen
Diane Allen, Infertility Network:
Great site! Today was the first time I've had the chance to look at it (on a friend's computer because the Infertility Network one is 6 yrs old & crashes when I try to surf net). Brenda - you're providing a great service!
cj:
This is my first visit to your site. I am feeling really down lately. Our insurance covers nothing. We went through a TESE/ICSI/ZIFT procedure in March and it did not work. This was so devistating to us because we were sure it would work. We have scheduled a second attemp for July 8th and are now trying to arrange the financing. I also had another HSG test done this week and there was a big cloud in my uteres. The doctors are unsure what it is so they were to study the xrays and see if they want to do a scope. I haven't heard back. I have nobody locally who has gone through this and every single person in my family and all my friends have children so I often feel quite alone.
Patty:
I just found out 2 days ago that our cycle did not work. I did not think that I would crash as hard as I did. The let down was so enormous. It is so comforting knowing that there are others out there like me who are on this emotional rollercoaster.
Lisa:
I'm just getting ready to start my IVF cycle (Lupron in a few days). My tubes are completely blocked again....this is our last hope. My fingers and toes are crossed for all of us! We went for our cycle class yesterday and my husband gave me a practice injection of simple saline using the "huge" needle - all I can say is WOW! The only thing that'll get me through this is the end result! Best of luck to all of you....
grace:
Hello, I HAD MY fet ON 4-18-00 AND NOW i AM ON MY 7TH DAY OF THE "WAITING PERIOD" I HAD TO RESPOND TO BRENDA AND THANK HER SO.. MUCH FOR ALL THE INFO I HAD REQUESTED. THIS SITE HAS BEEN SUCH AN EXCELLENT WAY FOR ME TO LEARN AND HEAR ALL OF YOUR STORIES. Good luck to all of you !!!!!
Tania:
Hi, I wish I discovered all of this wonderful support and information about 6 weeks ago! We discovered yesterday that our ICSI had not worked which was heartbreaking, especially as I was not expecting a period to happen until next week should the test be negative. We had 6 eggs retrieved and 3 fertilised well and were implanted. I guess the body wasn't ready for it yet. We are already talking about tryign another cycle at the end of the Summer (I am planning to work in Florida over June & July and am going to use the time to relax and get my body fit and well) This site is the first time we have heard of Blastocyst Transfer so I will be sure of asking my Doctor this week as to whether he recommends it for us. Thank you for your stories, some of them are heartbreaking and make me realise that we are actually very lucky. Good Luck to all, keep sharing and keep smiling. Thanks again Tania
Jodi:
Hi, my husband and I have been trying for 2 1/2 years to get pregnant. I am only 26 but was told at an early age that I might have trouble due to severe scarring in my tubes. I have had 2 ectopics and 1 miscarriage. We are starting our first IVF cycle the first week of May and we are both very hopeful and excited. As far as we know the only problem we have is getting our little embryos down the tubes. We strongly feel that we should be okay once they get where they are supposed to go. I wish you all luck with your IVF cycles. I will keep you updated.
Debi:
Hi! This is the first time I have seen this page. We have been trying for 12 years and even though I am only 32 I am still hoping. We will be starting another IVF cycle for retreval in June. We had 18 eggs the first cycle and 15 of which matured. We have had 3 transfers and are still looking forward to trying again. We are going to try to do blastocyte transfer this time. I would just like to tell everyone not to give up and always have faith.
Jeania in Georgia:
I read this site before I started my first cycle (was dropped after stims. didn't work) but never posted. We are going for a second cycle sometime in May/June with different drugs. I plan to join a cycle buddy list on this next cycle for the support I need. Good luck to all!!
Lori:
Hello, my husband and I did three IVF cycles spaced apart over a few years, but the 3rd time is charm sure is true because we were blessed with a son who is now 2. Now, we have tried IVF again (#4) to try to give our son a little brother or sister. We are in the 2 week wait.I found this sight, yesterday and it sure is nice to be here. Thinking of you all!
Julie Kern:
When I divorced my last husband I had my tubes tied, but now I am remarried. My huaband that I am Married to now knew when we got married that I could not get pregnant and he accepted the fact because he loved me and wanted to be with me,but I watch him with children and can not help thinking that I am depriving him of a wonderful experiance. I know he would be a great father,so we have decided to explore this option. I want to do this for my husband. This will probably be the only way I can give him a child. If anyone has any suggestions please e-mail me at juliekernKern@netscape.net.Thank you.
Cindy in Manitoba:
I've been following this site since end of Jan. I asked questions and learned alot. Waiting to finance IVF. Once I'm ready I'll know alot just from talking to you folks, and looking forward to all your support. This is my favorite fertility site.
Cristie:
Thank you everyone for making this such a wonderful site. Many thanks to Brenda. You must be one incredible lady! This site has been my saving grace. We are in our first IVF cycle waiting for pregnancy test tomorrow. (4/19/00) Good luck and many ++++++++thoughts to you all.
G:
I am really pleased to have found this support group as after two unsucessful attempts at IVF I am about to try again. It is great to hear from people who understand what you are going through.
Tammy:
Thankyou for this site, I've been here only once but have come back now that our 1st IVF consult is for April 19. I have just had a lap to remove ovarian cysts and both tubes so IVF is our only hope. We have insurance coverage for only 4 tries at IVF so we are hoping to be one of those lucky few who are successful the 1st time. Good luck to all of us just starting out and who are continuing the journey.
Roz(Scotland):
Just found out about this site. i never knew there were so many people out there just like me. My husband and I had our first attempt at IVF in Dec.99. We were so excited but it didn't work.We try our second attempt this summer. Just got to keep going we are never going to give up.
Ni:
Hi everyone! Well I have been there and done that. It took my husband and I 18 months to finally conceive and have a baby through IVF. We had a little girl who will be two in May. It was very hard and emotionally tormenting, but we did it. Good luck to all it will happen.
Nicola:
What a great help. We are just beginning our process and this will help answer a lot of questions.
Amy:
Good luck to everyone! Hope it all goes well
Midge:
This is my second visit to this site. I found it the first time during the "2 week" period of my first IVF cycle. I am going to start on 4/29 with the shots, etc. and hope this site will provide the strength to help me through the process.
Mary:
Hello. I found this site yesterday and have read so many stories. I will be starting my first IVF in late June or early July. I'm excited, scared and unsure all at the same time about this. Hopefully I have found a place where I can share my feelings with others that are going thru this or already have. What a wonderful site.
Paula:
Hi. My husband and I did IVF in June of 1998 and were blessed with twin sons. We are proof that IVF can and does work. Sites like this make it so much easier to get through such emotional times. We are going to do FET in June/July of 2000. We will be praying to be blessed once again. My prayers will also be going out to all of you who are trying to conceive.
Candace:
My husband and I are attempting our third IVF procedure after 4 unsuccessful attempts at superovulation/iui. Whenever I feel like giving up, I just think about holding a little bundle of joy in my arms and I know this pain will all be forgotten. My fingers are crossed for me and for all of you.
Jamie & Troy :
I'm so glad to have found this website, we had our 2nd transfer 4-7-00 and waiting for the 2 week test. Our first IVF transfer was unsucessful, so with 2 frozen embryo's we tried the 2nd time. If anyone has any questions please feel free to email me and I try to help you.
Helena Marcus:
Hi. Thanks for your wonderful site. Our drive to have a child is so strong so we are going for our 5th time. Many Thanks again ,Love from the Marcus family
Karen:
My husband found this web site a few months ago when we started our first IVF cycle. I think he was on it every night trying to get any information that he could. Tonight, we found out our first IVF was not successful. However, we are building up the courage to try a 2nd IVF. Wish all of you the best of luck and your in our prayers! God does work in mysterious ways!
april:
I came across this website by accident and to me it is a true Godsend. I am 33 and dh is 31. We have been ttc for about 5 yrs. I have a 13 yr old son and he has a 10 yr old son, but we want children together. I was put on parlodel in 1996 due to high prolactin. In Dec. of 1997, I got pregnant but it was ectopic. Here, almost 3 yrs later and only having one tube, dh and I have decided to try IVF because after all the random tests I've had, we found out he has a low sperm count. Our first consultation is on April 18th. Pray for us and gl to all of you. May God Bless us all on our journies. April
john:

Charisse:
This is my first visit to your site. It looks wonderful. I start my first IVF cylce on April 12th. I'm excited and scared all rolled into one. I'm afraid to be hopeful because there's only a 20% chance I will concieve. I'm 35 years only and basically doing this without the support of a partner. My goals and the complexities of life and God keep me going. I look forward to many visits to your site. Best wishes to all of us.
Cora:
Hi, my name is cora and I just discovered this site last night and I am learning so much from everyone already. I think it is great to have such support. I start my first IVF and ICSI program April 12th and I hope all goes well. Excited, nervous and hopeful. Cora
Charly Burgod:
An Excellent site. Have tried IVF two times now. Both have been unsuccessful but we are determined to keep on trying!

Hello, I have been visiting this web site for about 4 months since My husband and I decided to start IVF. I have gained so much knowledge and hope from this web site, it truly has helped reading other IVF stories. I especially found Katie Bolan's book "I got pregnant, and so can you" a true inspiration!! I had a retreival on Feb. 8, 2000 and my transfer was cancelled due to an ovarion cyst which I believe was caused bec/I was hyperstimulated. On the day of my retreival the clinic retreived 30 eggs but, only 8 were of "good freezing quality" I now will have my transfer on March 16th or 17th. Does anyone know what is concidered "good cell stage quality eggs" I would love to hear!!!!!

This is my first visit to the site.I am going for my fourth attempt at ivf soon it`s good to know that I am not alone as there are so many people like me out there. good luck to everybody.
Leigh Godin:
I am a mother of 3 wonderfully healthy boys, I have been very blessed, I decided that after Daniel my last little one, I would have a tubal ligation, which I now regret. Russ and I have now decided that a little girl would be wonderful and are looking into IVF, I hope to email you all soon and tell you that I am pregnant with my little daughter.
yvette:
hello I just had IVF done for the first time and it was not sucessful. My husband and I was very upset about the whole thing we thought it really going to work for us. WE are going to try it again with Gods will it will be sucessful next time.
Marzia (Italia):
Your site is wonderful!
Aust.:
I have visited your site on & off for about 2 mths. It is wonderful to see such a great network of info & support. I hope that we all achieve the dreams that we are all chasing for, a baby/a child of our own. All the best & good-luck to you all.
Heidi:
I have been visiting this website since Jan.'00 and I am so grateful to have such support on womern undergoing IVF. Books do help but adding emotional support on this rollercoaster ride helps so much. I have had 2 ectopics ( in 94 then 95) and will undergo IVF next week. I dont know what the future holds for me and my husband in the next months, but we are holding on whatever it takes....with God's help and yours.
Lora:
I am so happy to find this supportive site! I especially enjoyed the chatroom and actually hearing that others felt the same things I do. This is my first IVF cycle and I am hoping to find more good information from the e-mail lists. Good luck to all! ++++
I'm just so happy to find this site which is more oriented to Canadian perspective. The support from the users is tredmendous. It makes me feel accepted and fit in when discussing the concerns in the bulletin board group. Unlike other similar sites, this ivf connections is much easier to use and read. Thank you for creating this great tool for us to communicate with each other who has same concerns.
Debbie:
Thanks so much for this site. I have found it to be very interesting. I did my second retirievel yesterday(3-23-00). Praying all 9 eggs will fertilize. Praying that God will bless this time around. Thanks to all for the encouraging stories!! May God Bless us all with healthy, Beautiful babies, Debbie
wendy cooper:
hello to everyone that reads this...I was reading everything here and it is quite interesting.I work full time and was wondering if anyone had a step by step schedule of sorts that I could print off and produce to my employer. It does not have to be detailed just and approximation of days off needed and why.If anyone one out there could email me or put it on this site that would be really appreciated....thanx a bunch...stay strong...
Carrie:
I have been reading the stories on this site for almost 2 hours now. It has really helped me. I am currently in my first IVF cycle. In fact I just had retrieval on Tuesday and there were 15 eggs retrieved. Tommorrow I am scheduled for implantation. Being very nervous I turned to the internet to help relax. Needless to say it has helped. Knowing that you are not alone has a big impact on your attitude. I am now thinking positive and pray that everything works out. Thank you all for sharing your stories. I will continue to read updates.
Marcy:
I've spent the last two hours exploring this remarkable site. After my dh and I experienced an ectopic pregnancy (emergency surgery -- very scary -- it was my only remaining tube), we had to go back and tell all our friends and family we were no longer pregnant and are now unable to have children. Thinking it would lessen the pressure on us, we decided to not tell anyone we are going to try IVF this April/May. However, I was begining to feel very lonely as we begin this process. Through this site, though, I'm finding that I'm not as alone in this as I thought I was. Thanks to everyone who has shared their stories here, either for theraputic reasons or out of the kindness of their hearts. I pray that we all find the happiness in life that we are seeking -- with or without successful IVF. Hugs, Marcy
Christine Dokis:
Hi Everyone: I am so glad to find this support group. I have just finished my first IVF cycle at the beginning of March 2000 and it was unsuccessful. After years of diagnostic tests that could not determine a cause for infertility, my doctor said that we would probably never conceive. In December of 1998, I became pregnant on my own but was then going through emergency surgery as it was a tubal pregnancy. Now IVF is our only hope. I am very disappointed that our first try did not work and am struggling with the question of trying a new cycle as the disappointment was so great. I need all of your support to make my decision. Thanks, Christine
MICHELL:
JUST FOUND THIS WEB SITE AFTER HOURS OF TRYING TO FIND ANOTHER ONE THAT I USE TO CHAT IN. GOING THROUGH IVF FOR THE FIRST TIME. WE ARE VERY EXCITED. WE NOW HAVE 30 FOLLICLES MATURING AND ARE LOOKING FOR RETRIEVAL THIS FRIDAY 3/24/00. I WAS FIRST GOING THROUGH THE SPLIT DONOR PROCESS BUT THE RECIPIENT HAD TO HAVE MORE TESTING DUE TO SOMETHING GOING WRONG WITH HER UTERUS. WELL IMAGINE, I WAS HEARTBROKEN, BUT GOD SAW A WAY FOR US TO CONTINUE ON WITH THE PROCEDURE. WE ARE EXCITED BUT SAD AT THE SAME TIME. WE WANTED TO BLESS THIS COUPLE. OUR PRAYERS ARE WITH THEM AS WELL AS OURSELVES!
Vanessa (Cape Town, SA):
hi all - we have just had our first IVF (Feb 2000), 8 eggs were retrieved, all of them fertilized successfully, and 4 of them reached the blasocyst stage, three of which were put back - our first Beta was +ve, but two days later the levels dropped and it failed. We are both devastated but have to steel ourselves for next time (May 2000). It is wonderful to see that we are not alone and that we can draw strength from each other in these emotionally turbulent times.
Stacie:
I'm 28 and dh is 34. We've been actively ttc for about 1 1/2 years. Just finished 2nd IVF w/ no luck. I just found this website and it's great! I really like that there is a great chatroom in which to talk to others going through these same problems.
Jenny in Thunder Bay, Ontario Canada:
I am 27 years old and my husband is 32. We have been ttc for 3 years. We have had 2 ectopic pregnancies and have decided to do IVF to reduce our risks of another ectopic. We will be doing IVF #4 this May. IVF #1 & #3 were both cancelled because follicles did not get big enough and E2 level was low. IVF #2 resulted in a negative beta. We are hoping and praying that this cycle is the one. I am really glad that I found this site because it is very informative and a good place to chat to others who are going through the same thing. I wish each and everyone of you success in your IVF journeys. Take care!! If anyone ever needs someone to chat to, feel free to e-mail me.
Sang:
I have been thru' 3 IUI cycles already and will be starting on the IVF cycle for the very first time. There are so many things that I wasn't aware of until I accidently found this web site. It is very refreshing to read about what people have gone thru' as opposed to what the doctors say women go thru' "usually". There are so many aspects of this treatment that I hadn't thought about and now I am more educated. I feel a lot better knowing that my husband and I aren't the only ones going thru' a rough time.
Theresa D. (New York):
Hi. I am 29 y/o and my husband is 30. We've been married for 11 years in July and have been actively trying to have children for the last 10 years. I had a doctor when I lived in NH that kept telling me that I could have children. He even did a surgery on me to remove a cyst around my left tube and in the process removed the tube without telling me, He also must have known the right tube was pinched so I can not have children without help. Needless to say my heart has been broken about 50 million times because I miss periods almost every month and only get it every 5 months or so. I found a doctor here in NY that did every test imaginable on me and found my problem. He was a god-send! At last I know that I can't have children and I can quit having my heart and my husband's heart broken every month!!! My husband is a very wonderful man, by the way, and he is very supportive. We have been considering having IVF done and I think this site will help us through alot, by the sounds. We now have the names of several doctors in Syracuse, NY that do this and we are going to set up an appointment in May for a consultation. I admire all of you women so much! I just hope that I have the strength that you all seem to have!!! I wish you all the best of luck and say a prayer for us too!! Thank you so much Brenda!! You're wonderful!!
Alicia, California:
Hi, I'm 37 and I just on my first cycle, now waiting till I take the pregnacy test. It's nice to know that I am not alone and that there is so much support out there. Good luck to everyone else and hopefully in two weeks I will be able to report some good news!!!!
Laurie (Kitchener, Ontario):
I am just waiting for the phone call advising me that my beta is negative after round three of IVF. I still have three frozen embryos and lots of strength to continue till we succeed. I am 39 and will consider options in the US after the next FET. Thanks for all your stories - they help keep me sane during the long 2WW.
Jolene:
Hi. I am 34 and starting my second harvest. The first harvest left me with 14 embroys after freezing we had 7. The last transplant of the two tried one little embroy survived for a month. We were very sad to hear that we lost our baby after the excitment of one taking. I am just starting GonalF today. I am scared for the HCG shot as last time I had a terrible reaction to it. I will keep all of you in my prayers and hoping you will do the same for us.
Rhonda:
This is a great website... It helps us all to overcome the stress of going through infertility. We can ask our questions, and get answers from those who have experinced the same thing. This is wonderful...
Kristin:
I am a nursing student at McMaster University and was really touched by many of your stories. This sight is extremely imformative and allows someone like myself who works with IVF patients an opportunity to get first hand accounts and not just medical information. Thanks
Robin:
Thank you all for this wonderful site! I enjoy reading all of your input because it teaches me so much. A lot of you discuss the hardship of the cost of IVF, can any of you expand on that issue? I have been to an IVF Specialist twice and return again on the 27th to find out if my insurance company will cover any of the procedure. Do any of you know where I can find out more information regarding costs? Thank you all in advance and GOOD LUCK!!!

I am 27 yrs old and my husband and I have been TTC for over 6 yrs. We had five cycles of IUI and have now moved on to our first IVF/ICSI attempt. I am now on day 8 of my Lupron shots and we are looking forward to beginning our Gonal-F soon. We are very anxious and anticipating our retrieval, fertilization, and tranfer. We are doing alot of praying and keeping very positive thoughts. Thank you all for sharing your experiences and knowledge - I will keep you all in my prayers.
Katie in London:
Great to have found this site - good luck to everyone on this truly difficult journey
Carol, Sydney, Australia:
I have been sitting here, tears welling, reading all your stories. I wish I had found this site when I was going through IVF/ICSI years ago. I was 43 years old when I started on IVF and was 44 when I finally became pregnant with my little girl - the angel of our lives - Poppy Jane. I have never met such wonderful, faithful and determined people as you IVFers. I want to stay part of the whole thing (I'm 46 now) and DH and I are working towards donating the frozen embryos we have to maybe give someone else the chance we were given. Pleeeeeze don't give up hope - I read Gabriella from Macedonia - and was so moved by her situation - no clinics so they rely on God - what a statement! He is the giver of life, afterall. Beat the odds, ladies, your children are depending on you not to give up!
lsm:
This site has been a life saver. I am going through my first ivf and have never felt so confused, anxious and scared. Being 40 I wasn't sure how many women were in my position. It is so comforting to know that I can share my feelings with others who are either there now or have been there.
Tom:
To Melissa, Sounds familiar! I remember the phonecall from Linda very clearly, she was having a routine investigation via laparoscopy to check everything was o.k., she told me in a very distressed and tearfull state that we could never have children as her tubes had been blocked by infection at sometime. Jessica will be three in a matter of weeks and we are truly blessed, not only with the gift of a wonderfull daughter but an incredibly strong bond that developed during our experiences together. We wish you all the very best.
Keri:
Hi, I'm 33 years old and have my first ivf nurse consult on 3/14. I have 3 children from a previous marriage, and am having ivf because of a tubal ligation after my first child. I'm scared of having it fail, since I want a child so badly with my husband. I'm so glad I found this site and hopefully I can sign up for the cycle buddies email list soon!
Denise-Arizona:
I'm 28 yrs.old and my DH and I are about to go through our 3rd IVF. The first 2 were unsuccessful although I stimulated well, many eggs were retrieved and many fertilized. Both my tubes were removed in 98 so we know why I'm infertile. The hardest part is not understanding why the IVF's failed. This had undoubtedly been the hardest road we have ever gone down and we wish all of you success w/your treatment.
Lee-Michele & Richard:
I have just joined the March/April IVF list and have heard it is a wonderful support so here's to March/April being the right months.
Stacy:
I thought that I wasn't going to get much use out of our internet subscription, but now I've changed my mind! I think I've been on the net for an hour reading all the wonderful messages and information that this site can offer. Thanks for doing such a fantastic job.
Claire From Australia:
Thankyou Brenda for this great web site! You have done an incredible job and I have been inspired by the personal stories. We have had a long and hard IVF/ICSI journey, that continues. However, when we stumble across fanastic sites like this, we know that we are not alone. Thankyou
Sherry:
My husband and I have been ttc for over 2 1/2 years. I had an ectopic pg (via IUI) in July 99 and they removed my right fal. tube. Currently doing 2nd IVF cycle - dealing with Lupron & GonalF shots was not easy at first - scared to death of needles! But, now it's old hat. Have gained lots of weight from drugs and treatments and am so very blesssed to have a wonderful husband who understands what I am going through to have our child. I will continue this fight until the insurance money runs out and then I will find another company and start over with them. As long as it is a possibility, I will work daily to have a child of my own. I am so glad that there are others out there that understand what I go through daily and can offer friendship and support when the times get rough - and they do!
Kimberly and Richard:
Thank you so much for this website. My husband and I have been told that the only way for us to have a baby is through IVF as my tubes are damaged and deformed. This has happened within the last 7 years as I already have a 7 year old daughter. I had her very young and was a single mom for 5 years, then I met Richard. Marrying him was the beginning of a wonderful life together for all 3 of us. Then we were ready to move onto the next step and have children together, that's when we found out this devastating news. Now we face financial struggles in our marriage to try and live day to day and provide for the child that we already have but also save for this procedure. It's all so crazy and I wish I could have someone else's life at times. We are so thankful for the daughter we have but I'm not ready to accept that my husband won't ever get to experience the joys of having a child of his own. Anyway, I'm so thankful for all of you and for this website. Good luck to all of you and I'm gonna fight for the right for us to have coverage for these procedures...
Melissa:
I am just about to start my first IVF cycle. I cannot conceive naturally due to damaged tubes. In November of 1999, I had an unsuccessful Laparoscopy to try to repair the damage. Now, our only chance of conception is through IVF. I am about to start my first cycle in mid March. Wish us luck!
Maria:
Hello. I am 34 and DH and I have been ttc for over 3 years now. We have our 1st IVF nurse consult next week and will probably start Lupron in @3 weeks. I've been quietly reading almost everything on this site for about 1 month now. Thank you Brenda for having the courage and gumption to start this site! I'm not even in full swing yet but already I feel a little better knowing there is somewhere I can go where people will understand what is happening to me. Good luck and positive wishes to all!!!
EMERALD FROM AUSTRALIA:
Hi everyone.
I am just gearing up to start my first IVF attempt. I start my little BCP's on Friday and away we go. Best wishes to everyone and may your dreams come true in the near future.
Cherylynn:
Hi averyone, I am currently researching fertility clinics. I underwent 4 IVF attempts in 1999 and am looking for a new facility.
I am 30 yeras old and have only one retrieval left, that insurance will cover. This is the best website I have ever come across. I was on the Nov/Dec. cycle buddy list last year and it literally saved me from going insane. Knowing that other women felt the saem dramatic emotions I did helped tremendously. Good luck to all of you. YOU ARE NOT ALONE, no matter what you may think sometimes.
Trina:
Hello All!
Finally! Someone out there who really knows how I feel about everything from being excited on day of transfer to biting fingernails down to nubbs during the 2ww. I am thrilled with this web site. It is truely an answered prayer.
Trina
Jamie:
This is my first time visiting your site. After reading many of the stories I immediately wanted to join. If found myself in so many of those stories. I am currently undergoing my third and final ivf attempt (final because of finances). I have had six embroyes transferred and I am awaiting the pregnancy results. My husband and I have trying for four years now. I found your stories both inspiring and hopeful. Thank you!
Laura:
I've been in touch with this site for a few weeks now but have, until now, just been an observer. I have drawn strength from everyones experiences -thanks. I am currently on my 2ww from IVF - it REALLY is the worst bit!
Annette:
Hi Everyone I am 39 and am going through my second IVF. During my first treatment I did not respond very well to the drugs. The simulated me very well. I think too well. I was on 1cc of Lupron for about 2 1/2 weeks then 3 amps of Gonal-F AM and 3 amps of Repronex PM. After 2 days I only had two very small follicles so they up'd the amp one each for another two days and there was only 1 ok sized follicle on my right ovary while the two small ones on my left remained the same size. Needless to say we canceled this cycle. My next appointment is next Thursday when we will talk about the next protocol.
I may have been Knocked down but I am not out of the race. I believe we can petition God for the impossible and make it possible!
Never give in..Never give UP!!
Tracy (Seattle):
I am 30 & my husband & I are trying IVF/ISCI for the first time in early March. This web page has brought us so much hope. I love to read every day all the new emails I get, and all the support out there. If there is ever a question it is always answered.Thank you all so much. Our thoughts & prayers are with everyone.
Sue:
We're starting our fourth attempt in March.
Here's hoping!!!
Lisa:
I found this site a few months ago, when we first found out IVF/ICSI is our best chance to conceive, due to male factor. Since our insurance doesn't cover ANYTHING (not even the PAP I had on our first appt!) to do with infertility problems, we were not able to start immediately. We now have the money and will be starting our first cycle next week. My dh is 35 and I am 30. He is optimistic that we are going to be successful on our first try, while I can't let myself. But, just reading the stories and getting the e-mails from the groups has been so helpful for me and my emotions. This is the best site I've found!
Terri:
Hi I just found this site a couple of days ago.
It is nice to know I can talk to other couples and get and give support from others who understand. Wishing everyone much success in their journey.
Angela:
Hi - have been married for nearly a year - am 36 and dh is 33! We would love to have kids but want the process to hurry up! Both of us are apparently find but have been trying since about July last year to no avail. Will be phoning the IVF place today - hold thumbs and good luck to all you lovely people!
Jo and Jason :
My husband and I have started our 3rd IVF cycle. This time we are both a bit anxious and there seems to be a lot more pressure this time round. Fingers crossed and all the very best to everyone who is willing to give it go.
Diana 32:
i'm 32 and just started lupron on 2/17. This is our first IVF cycle and i'm hopefull that it works for my husband and me. I've lost both of my tubes and also my left ovary,so IVF is our only hope for me to carry our biological child. I've had a rough time from family and little to no emotional support from either side. My husband has been great but it would be nice to hear some nice words from family. After all we're trying to add to our family tree and i wish they'd understand that it's not so easy for us. I hope with this site i can get some greatly needed encouraging words as well as give them.
Briar:
I am 40 years old and will be starting my first (hopefully last) IVF in May. I love this website and the information here! Briar
Deb:
I am so glad I found this site. I too am playing the waiting game to find out if the IVF worked. I am driving myself crazy waiting until the 24th to find out if I am pregnant. This is by far the hardest time. I have had a success story with IVF and have a healthy happy 3 1/2 year old but he was not my first attempt and this time we used a donor. I will be 40 in a few months and feel I am running out of time and this time I am a wreck waiting the two weeks. I'm glad to know I'm not alone. Good luck to all!
Pamela:
Hi- My husband and I are in the process of saving our money for IVF. We are down to the cost for meds and tests. I have had several tubal pregnancies but still have both my tubes. Doctor feels good that IVF will work. I just feel like there is so much that I don't know about the whole procedure. I hope to get more info now.
Katelynn:
I am so excited that I found this great source of information and support.I have had 2 unsuccessful tubal surgeries for bi-lateral hydrosalpinx. I am left with the only option of IVF. I am wondering if anyone is out there in the same boat as me & if they had their tubes removed before proceeding on with IVF.
ana paula:
I am at the end of an ICSI cycle. I should know if I am pregnant on Monday 21. I am trying to be cool about it and other times I am already picking names out! This is very difficult and I am wishing, hoping and praying that I'll everything will be fine and I'll take a baby home!
Crystal:
I am new to this site and have found the information and support from others overwhelming. My husband and I have been trying to conceive for 3 1/2 years now and are just beginning IVF and ICSI. Hopefully, these procedures will work and with the support of those around us the feelings of dispair and frustration will subside.
Janet:
My husband & I are just beginning this journey. I had a tubal 5 years ago (when I didn't want any children-long story, bad relationship). IVF is our most logical route to have a baby. I am hoping that this website will help me learn what steps I will be taking, and just what lies ahead for us. I have a million questions: Pain? Cost? Success rate? Side Effects? Medications? Etc. I am glad that you are all here. This is a wonderful opportunity to ask questions and find answers, from people who have been there, or are there right now. Sometime anonymous support is the best support. :)
Artemise:
Hi! This is the first time for me to sign up, mostly because I thought I could 'deal with it myself'. Well, I cannot anymore and have realized a good network will keep me going through this hard process.I have done IVF/ICSI for over a year now, 6 times. I was pregnant twice and lost the embryos twice. I feel I will never have children, and have lost all hope. Reading all your stories renewed my hope again, and I pray that I can keep going, despite the pains and depressions during the treatments, and after the miscarriages. Thank you for your support!
Gina:
This is my second IVF cycle. The first one failed. I'm glad I found this website it has been very helpful in answering my questions and giving me advice on the progesteron shots. Good Luck and my prayers to everyone
Kay:
Hi! I'm very excited to say that tomorrow I'm starting lupron for my first IVF cycle. We are tubal factor and this will be our first real chance at pregnancy and have our hopes set very high that it will work the first time. This site is great for meeting people going through the same thing as you are! Thanks Brenda!
Laurie & Greg:
My husband and I just got back from our first visit to an IVF Clinic. We are starting the prenatal vitamins and blood work tomorrow. I am 34 years old, have diabetes, and only one ovary and tube, however, my tube doesn't work. Nothing can pass through, therefore, we are going to do it IVF. They may also be performing egg manipulation. I have always been told that I could not have biological children. Now, just about when it is getting to the end, they say maybe you can. Hopefully this will work we are very excited about being parents. Any info will be greatly appreciated.
Suzanne:
Well I have just gone through my first IVF treatment and am now waiting to see if it has worked. I am not feeling particularly pregnant - but on Wednesday I will return to the clinic to be tested.
I am from Stockholm, Sweden.
stephanie:
my husband and i have been trying for 8 1/2 years
and just found out today that the only way to
get pregnant is vitro. at first i thought there is no hope, but as i got reading the stories in this site, i realize there may be hope. i'm very scared because after 8 years there seems to be no hope. i'm not sure anymore what to think. you just feel so alonely, but after reading your stories, i feel better knowing i'm not alone. i hope that whatever we chose it works. my doctor gave me this website and i'm glad because there are no support groups and i don't know anyone that is going through the same problem as me, all i know are women who have had problems and have suceeded in some way, but never had to go as far as i am, but i realize this is a bigger problem then i thought, and i wish that there were better fundings for us, maybe someday there will. i wish everyone the best of luck!!!!! and don't give up i waited 8 years and i'm not stopping til i suceed.
Jennifer:
My husband and I are beginning our first IVF/ICSI cycle. I am nearly on the 2nd week of suppression and will begin the stimulation process hopefully on Friday, Feb. 10th. I am really excited about all this, but at the same time very scared. It is very comforting to hear other people's story, so I will be frequently visiting. My coping strategy is to try and stay cautiously positive. Good luck to all and a very happy new millennium.
linda:
After many cycles of IUI, both with and without Clomid, I found out there were medical problems not first expected. After much testing and LAP surgery we are considering IVF. I was just looking for information and experiences. This looks like a great place to find it.
Tracy:
I am so happy that I have found this site. My husband and I will be starting our first IVF cycle in April and I am so nervous and scared. I have been pregnant before but had an ectopic pregnancy at 8 weeks. Even though I never had the chance to feel pregnant I knew I was and it broke my heart. I want to thank you all for your messages that you have posted on this site, some have given me encouragement and others have made me pray to God that it works. I wish everyone of you all the success in the world and many happy times.
Paul &Eme:
We are looking for an egg donor with an African background we were so close to conception until the donor we had withdrew.. we aare now in a void
If you can help or know someone please let us know>
Ruth:
I am 39 years old,I had surgery 9 years ago to open my blocked tubes. I recently foun out that my tubes were damaged. So I am getting ready to start IVF. I am scared that it will not work. I hope there are alot of success stories to give me hope!!!
Gerri:
Hi this is going to be my first and hopefully my only IVF cycle (wishful thinking). Through a LAP we just found out I have adhesions which are blocking my tubes. I feel lucky we didn't have to go through all the anguish of trying & trying without results. We were only going to start TTC next month but I needed to get a cyst removed and that's how they found the trouble. I'm only 26 without any other infertility issues that I know about so my RE says we have a really good chance on our first try. Trying not to be too optimistic though. I am feeling a little more posistive after finding this web site and reading all the success stories. Good luck to everyone.
Rina:
Hi this is my first and only IVF cycle I have had 2 children from a previous marriage then I had my tubes tied. Now I'm remarried and my husband doesn't have any children. we transfered 4 emb on thurs 02/03 now I'm just playing the waiting game which is utterly nerve racking!!!
Mary(texas):
Our journey started almost two years ago.We have gone through two IVF cycles without success. I'm 39 years old and were are trying for the third time. We are praying that it works. I feel that I'm running out of time because of my age. Good luck to all of you.
Sherry:
Hi, I am from Canada and I am on the last step to the IVF cycle. I injected myself with the needles, I went for bloodwork, and ultrasounds and when it came time to take the eggs out, they found that I had avery large amount---20!!!! Out of the 20, 17 of them fertilized properly. We now have 3 put back in and I am just playing the waiting game. It takes just over 2 weeks before they can do a pregnancy test, and this is the worse part of the whole proceedure! I can't sleep because all I think about is that the embryos didn't attach. I would rather go through the whole proceedure again than have to wait for the results. But if it does work, it was well worth the wait, and the money!!! Good luck to everyone going through the same thing!!!
Denny:
This is the first time I looked up IVF on the Net
I read the stories, I am so not alone, I was afraid to have IVF done I only heard the bad stories until today. Thank you and to all the pepole who care enought to share there stories.
Mojca from Slovenia:
Great Web site, it helped me a lot with all information and stories!!! Thank you all. I'm 34, my housband is 42. We have been trying for 7 years now. Currently I'm going through my second IVF cycle and today I've retrieved 5 eggs. I'm praying a lot and trying not to be nervous.
I wish you all the best!
Ann in N Ireland:
This is a wonderful site and has provided me with great information. I am currently in my two week wait and it is very difficult. I am 38 and this is my first complete cycle. I am very nervous. My two weeks will be up on Friday and I do not know whether I should go for a test or do one myself. No doubt I will be up at the crack of dawn on Friday testing!
Penny:
Thank you for this wonderful site! My brother and sister-in-law are going through their first IVF after several years of trying. I wanted to add some personal knowledge to my prayers and support. I will ask them if they've visited here. It is always good to be among people who really understand what you're going through. Thanks again for building this wonderful community.
Julia:
Hi, I'm Julia. I went through my first course of IVF ICSI in November 1999. I had 24 eggs retrieved and 15 fertilised. I had 2 transfered and one embryo could not be frozen so we have 12 embryos frozen. Unfortunately we were not successful with our first attempt but we are trying an FET on or around 18/19 of this month, depending on my surge. Please keep your fingers crossed for us. What a great website this is - I've just discovered it and am so glad I did! Good luck to everyone else out there - keep thinking POSITIVE thoughts!!
Jo:
Hello, my name is Jo and my husband and I have been on the IVF Program for just over 6 months. We have had two attempts and two failures. We are about to start another treatment soon, so hopefully this will be our special year. I look forward to reading the other messages from fellow IVF patients. Good Luck to all of you.
Gabriella:
my name is Gabriella, from Macedonia. Here we don't have clinics for IVF treatments,so we pray and wait for God or someone like you to help us.J wish luck to everyone.
KAREN:
I have mild endometriosis and high natural killer cells. So, I just got done with one infusion of IVIG. Today was my first day with Gonal-F and Lhadi. I am trying to have a very positive outlook on this whole in vitro thing. We've been trying to conceive for over 3 years. I really believe the mind influences the body in many ways. I'm a registered nurse and see it every day. Just think of athletes who get injured or sick. They have positive attitudes and amazing things happen with their bodies. So....I'm thinking that if I keep telling myself that I will get pregnant with my first in vitro try...that I will! I know reality is that not everyone does on their first try...but some women do! I'm praying a lot too. Well, I look forward to my journey along this path with women just like me! Thanks for this website. Moral support is awesome!
Therese:

Linda (California):
Thank you for having an inspirational place for myself and others to go and feel like they are not the only ones with infertility problems. I've been married for close to seven years, I'll be 37 years old this June, and my husband and I want children so despirately! We lost a baby around 3 years ago-it was a tubal pregnancy. I had become pregnant from Artificial Insemination. I lost my tube as a result and was told that the remaining tube was in such bad condition that it would be a miracle to get pregnant naturally. I have been on an emotional rollercoaster ever since. I try not to get depressed. It is so difficult. The doctors have told us that our only hope is IVF, and unfortunately, like so many others, $10,000 is not affordable for us. Could anyone write me with information on insurance companies who might cover at least a portion of the cost? Why is it that insurance companies do not cover IVF in situations like mine? I understand that in certain states, insurance companies are required to cover IVF, is this true? My husband and I would love to someday hold a baby in our arms. I pray every night that God will watch over us and bless us with a child. Good luck to everyone who is in the same situation that we are and know that it will happen someday if it is God's will. God bless.
Joy Thompson:
Jennifer Warrington:
What a great site. My husband and I are awaiting our transfer. We are currently on day 2 with 14 4-cell embryos. I am not allowing myself to be optimistic, but am just praying for God's will. We will see...
Shelley:
This is my first visit to the website and it looks like just what I need! We're on the 4th day of suppression and feeling cautiously optimistic. I'm going to sign up for a cycle buddy and that should help alot. Positive thoughts to all of you who are feeling the conflicts of hope and fear. We'll get through it together!
Lori:
I just found this website and wanted to express how wonderful I think it is. My husband and I completed our first IVF cycle with ICSI and were successful. I discovered I was blessed with twins but I did end up losing one. It hurt tremendously but I had to be strong for the remaining child. I am 8wks3days and very excited. I will admit that I am also very scared of losing this child. I wish much love to all of you that are going through this or have experienced it before. May God Bless You All.
Terri:
A week ago we had our last 3 blastocsyt transfered and are hoping for our dreams to come true. Since we had to have a donor for eggs this will be the last try. Its on to plan"B" (adoption)after this. It's O.K because I know I've done all I can and my husband and I are happy with that. I truly wish all of you the best of luck and try to stay happy and positive. Good Luck!!!!
denise:
after my 4 attempt at ivf that has failed i will never give up,but it is nice to know that you are not on your own and there are people just like me out their living in hope of holding a baby in my arms.so still i live in hope.........
Hendrie (the netherlands):
We hope to find a lot of information about IVF.
Esther, The Netherlands:
Jan/Feb.00 We are starting our first IVF treatment This site is a real support! I wish everybody good luck and strength!
Lakeshia:
Hello everyone,
My husband and I have been trying to have a baby now for almost two years. I am 27 years old and my husband is 33. We first discovered our infertility problem about a year ago after trying to conceive for a full year. I was diagnosed with bilateral occlusion in my tubes. My RE said our only chance at pregnancy would be through IVF. I would love to try IVF because we really want to have a child but the cost is so expensive and our insurance won't cover it. I have been researching a site I found on the web for financial and pharmacuetical assistance. I'm hoping and praying that this will work out for us because it seems to be our only chance at going through with IVF. It has been a devastating last few months excepting the fact that my body won't produce a baby on its own. I'm glad I found this website because I really need support from other people who understand what we are going through. I pray that God will answer all of our prayers and bless us all with the child or children of our dreams. Thank you for this website and Good Luck!!!!!!!!!!!
Carol (Long Island):
This is my first IVF and i dont think i could of made it with out the support That i have received from women that know how it feels to want a child I thank everybody as we say ++++ thoughts :0)
R Peach:
i am only doing this due to the pleasure i get from sliding in that catheter
Shannon:
Very new to this site, and find it very helpful to see that there ARE others out there. Good luck to everyone!
Dawn (London):
I am waiting to undertake my second full attempt at IVF through ICSI. If at the end of all the attempts we are still unsuccessful I think that it is important to go through life always missing the thing that you don't have but to be grateful for all the things that you already have. I have a wonderful husband, close supportive family and friends, good health and 2 cats! It is important not to lose sight of this and realise that you still have a good life.
SUE B.:
I am almost finished with my first IVF cycle and it would be nice to talk to someone who knows how scary it really is!
Sherry (New Jersey):
I am new to this site, but have visited several others and find them to be a tremendous source of support. We all know how many insensitive people are out there who cannot possibly relate to our experiences, but yet have so many tid-bits of advice to give us. After over 2 1/2 years of TTC, I am starting my 2nd IVF cycle on 1-20-00, and will be visiting this site for some much needed "bonding". Best of luck to you all.
Ellen:
1/12/00 - This is my 8th day of Lupron in 1st IVF cycle. This is such a great group...the support I've gotten from those going through the same thing cannot be matched! Best of luck to everyone.
diana:
diana,
this web site is awesome!! on our 3rd attempt ivf and looking forward to it. I also look forward to all the great info. and stories. Good luck to all let's not give up!!! think positive+++ and lots of praying.
Melissa (Texas):
I would like to thank everyone who has contributed to this site. This information makes choosing IVF easier and helps ease the discomfort of not having anyone to talk to who truly understands.
agnes:
i have recently found out that my only option to achieve pregnancy is ivf. this site has given me some hope and the information that i needed to help make it easier to accept. i hope i can write another time and tell you that it was successful. thank-you
Cherie:
Sarah (London):
Brilliant website - it makes you realise how many people are out there on IVF programmes. We've been really, really lucky, and our first attempt worked - well, I'm 12 weeks pregnant at the moment (through IVF ICSI). Good luck to you all.
Becky(maryland):
What a wonderful idea. It feels good to have knowledeable support.
Deborah (SK.):
Hi, I am so excited about this web site. I found it today. We are going to Calgary very soon for our first IVF. Good luck and God Bless everyone who has connected to care and share. Thanks!
Janet (Nashville):
Hello, I am real excited about your site. This is our 1st IVF. We start Lupron around the middle of Feb. Hope to find a cycle buddy then.
Thanks for the support!!!
Rachel (London):
This is a great site, lots of interesting & usefu info. I've done 1 1/2 cycles and am waiting to start my next. I have made friends with some wonderful couples also going through IVF. I was nervous but spoke to them in the hospital waiting room. It was the best thing I could have done. Don't sit there in silence as I used to do.

I am a 33 years old girl and we have been trying to get pregnant for five years. We have also tryed IVF or ICSI five times and always failured. I can see here at this site that we are many in the same situation. I think that this site is very good and easy to understand, excuse my english. To Brenda I would like to say that she has got a wonderful puppy. I have also a Shetland sheepdoog as her. My dog is 10 years now. But still healthy and alert.
Regards from sweden
and happy new year to every IVF-couple in USA

I am 27 years old and have just started my 1st (& hopefully only) IVF cycle. I'm on my 11th day of Lupron injections and will be starting the stims (Gonal-F) in a few days. If all goes well I will have the retreival & transfer the 3rd week in Jan. Keep your fingers crossed for me & I'll do the same for all of you. I'm very thankful for sites like this one for support!

My husband, Mark and I have been trying to conceive for more than 6 years now. We tried IUI twice, but were told that I am unable to release my eggs. IVF seems to be our only option, other than adoption. We haven't really made our minds up yet on our next steps, other than taking a breather from everything for awhile. Thank you for this website. It lets us know that we're not the only ones who are going through disappointments every month and that there is hope. Good luck to everyone!

Hi!
This is the second time i am visiting this site and get so much information. I think it´s great.
We tried with IVF 2 times and we failed. I had only 2 mature eggs, but they didn´t divide. I dont understand why and we are devistated. Please write to me if you have some information about this.

Happy New Year, wonderfull people!
My wife & I have gone trough a lot, with one failed and another almost successful in-vitro, not giving up hope, but the financial issues here, in L.A. are just destroying us.
Any ideas and resources?
Wishing all the best, is good, that you exist,
Stefan
