Elephant in the Room

I've been working on writing a set of tutorials to help members get the most out of their blogs at IVFConnections. One of the problems I ran into was that as vBulletin has upgraded their software package, not everything continues to work the way it used to.

Most people don't realize our blogs are really customizable. (It's not very evident, so most people have vanilla blogs.) When I first started blogging with this software, you could choose an image to use as your blog's background. But six months ago, the software developers launched an update of the software which broke the blog background image function. I thought the problem was at IVFC and not vBulletin, so I ripped my hair out trying to fix it. After a few days of trying (on and off) I gave up and went to vBulletin for help. Yep, turns out it was broken and listed in their "bugs to be fixed" list.

The littlest things can make working with this type of software so completely frustrating ... which is why I put off doing some of the upgrades I want to do and why things take longer than I'd hope.

Ok - I have one more bit of the blog tutorial to finish and then I can publish them. Time to go do that!
